Analysis of Lost in Random: chance drives everything

We are in a universe with real nightmarish creatures, anthropomorphic characters, talking closets and two-faced mayors. We have lost our twin sister because of chance and an evil Queen. Our mission: to get it back.

This will not be easy, we will find on our way a huge number of enemies, most of them distributed in the following areas playgrounds that we will have to complete to advance in our adventure. The inhabitants of Azar live under the yoke of the Queen, and their personalities will change depending on the result of the dice roll you make.

We will have to go through 6 worlds equivalent to the 6 faces of a die, with the help of Dadelio (yes, the names are deeply thought and meditated). He is one of the few lovable creatures that we will meet and that will help us on our way through this imaginary world that can remind us of the worlds of Tim Burton. .

Lost in Random is an action game based on the following mechanics the letters, a priori, this aspect made me a bit reluctant, but I have to admit that it is so accessible that I ended up finding it a lot of fun.

Our protagonist will be equipped with a slingshot, whose sole purpose is to destroy the crystals of enemies, the cards can be used by Dadelio to collect them and increase his energy. When the energy is completed, we can roll the die, the combat will be paused and different cards will appear randomly (of course), each card has different functions to give us a sword, a mallet, to heal us, to create bombs, etc.

In turn, these cards can be used strategically to modify weapons, or modify the energy cost of other cards. In each deck we can have up to 15 cards. These cards can be bought in exchange for money that can be found scattered around the map, destroying vases, doing side quests, etc.

The secondary missions, are the great pending task of not only this game, but of most video games in general. Therefore, we will find errand missions, find different people, creatures, etc..

As for the enemies, we don't find many very different ones, they end up being reduced to 4 or 5, which we will find regularly. Of course, when they grow in number they offer us a very challenging experience. .

The maps are very well built, with a somewhat labyrinthine design of corridors, which on more than one occasion will make us go over it several times to not forget any corner.

The soundtrack is composed by The Blake Robinson, responsible for other titles such as Portal Knights. There is no doubt that he has managed to capture the essence of Lost in Random and has translated it into a brilliant musical composition.

In short, Lost in Random is a highly recommended game, which stands out for its exceptional artwork and gameplay, although repetitive, very fun.

The best:

-Its aesthetics.

--The mechanics of the cards are very simple to use for players who are not experts in this modality.

--The construction of the characters is quite deep.

The Worst:

--Repetitive enemies.

--The side missions do not add much depth to the gameplay experience.
