By now you probably know what it is all about Steam, we're sure many of you will be using this gaming platform on a daily basis, but for those of you who are new to the gaming world or simply haven't looked into it, we bring this post to bring you up to date
Steam is a platform for Valve Corporation, launched in 2003, which works as a distributor of video games for PC. This is important because, in Steam you will find exclusively games for PC, not for other platforms. In order to start playing with Steam you will simply have to download the client, create an account and you will be able to have on your PC all the titles that you acquire through its platform
The platform was born with the intention of improving Valve's titles, through patches that would correct possible server crashes due to the number of online players, through a single tool (Steam) that would automatically install updates. This ended up being just another function of something much bigger, as it is today, Steam is considered the leading platform for buying digital games for PC.
As you acquire titles, you will build up your Steam library and, most interestingly, you will be able to share it with friends. Yes, Steam is not only a platform for PC games, but it also has touches of social network, a social network known as Steam Community. You will be able to add your friends, with their Steam account, and see what they are playing at any given moment (if they allow it). You will also be able to send gifts, chat in-game and, as we mentioned before, share your games with each other, linking another user to your library.
